Leaning into Logistics

If your online order arrived quickly, Austin Kreinz and his company Atomix Logistics, LLC may be the reason why. As more people are shopping online, the need for third-party logistics companies have grown. And as the need has grown, so has Atomix’s business and their own need for more space.

Armed with a background in ecommerce and finance and his Forbes “30 Under 30” honors, Austin founded Atomix in 2020. Although Austin was inspired by his family’s logistics company, he saw an opportunity to bring intuitive tech into the process of fulfillment and shipping. At Atomix, proprietary software and a mobile app make customer support not only easy but efficient. Dedicated space for each customer within the Atomix warehouse allows for seamless fulfillment for customers of retailers such as Amazon and Shopify as well as small businesses selling merchandise such as health and wellness products and cosmetics.

"I love working with others and pouring my heart and soul into something with likeminded people."

When you place an order with one of these businesses, the order goes directly to Atomix, whose employees pick the order from Atomix warehouse and facilitate shipping. Atomix ships across the U.S. and globally. Milwaukee’s central location allows for faster ship times. Additional Atomix facilities in Salt Lake City and Baltimore help cover even more territory. Neither you nor the business you ordered from ever have to deal with procuring the product and getting it to your house: Atomix does it all.

Originally housed in a 60,000 square foot building in Cudahy, Atomix recently moved into a 140,000 square-foot space in Oak Creek. In addition to taking on the new lease on the temperature-controlled space, Atomix made investments in automation, equipment and new team members, all with the help of MEDC. The move has tripled their business capacity and expanded their client roster.

Atomix’s Milwaukee facility employs 75 team members, a number Austin expects to double in the next two years. “It’s been rewarding building the team,” Austin says. “I love working with others and pouring my heart and soul into something with likeminded people.” Still, with all this growth, Austin says maintaining a healthy business and a high level of customer service is at the forefront.
